This supermajority conservative hand selected Federalist Society set of justices will serve out their term as lifetime appointees since they were appointed under “lifetime term” legislation.
Just think of the damage to our freedoms and how much this majority can “soil” our Constitution, the rule of law, judicial ethics, and our democracy while serving out their lifetime appointments.
There is a solution and that is to have the next congressional session dilute the super majority by revising the hundred fifty year old 1869 Judiciary Act. They can increase the Supreme Court to 13 members, require a 2/3 vote in decisions (OK 60%), and limit terms to 25 years.
Revising the Act could also include an ethics code, public transparency and any other updating to bring the Justice system into the 21st century.
All we need to do is vote for a Congress that works for the American public.
