Mr. Greenspun I agree with you and respectfully disagree with you on your recent column (2-17-19), “Where I Stand”. The column entitled “Here’s the Deal: We need to listen to the young” is in my opinion partially correct.
The headline should have ended after the word ‘listen”! Yes, the young have the energy, ideas, and time that can address the challenges of a changing contemporary society, but to say they are the only source of fresh ideas is too limiting. Many others like myself, an octogenarian, have plenty of ideas.
Unfortunately the problem is that no one wants to listen to anyone over the age of fifty unless that person is in a position of authority.
