SHAKESPEARE ON COVID-19 LEADERSHIP

The famous words of Shakespeare, “Lord, what fools these mortals be” can best be illustrated by how a narcissist, egomanical, psychopathic president turned a “win, win, win” situation, which could have sealed a successful re-election, into a “lose, lose, lose” pile of manure.  This type of leadership blunder could only be accomplished by a self proclaimed, “very stable genius”.  Imagine what a thinking president, with an IQ greater than his hat size, could do with a “once in a hundred year” opportunity to be the world hero in addressing a global pandemic by organizing and directing the resources of the United States in testing, treatment, and development of a vaccine to inhibit the virus.  All this by the leader of the most powerful nation on earth.  It is a shame that Trump and his administration’s cult of “yes boss!” people pissed away the opportunity of locking in a second term.

Trump knew about the COVID-19 virus potential of becoming a pandemic early in the 2020 election year, but since he had an historic high stock market, a solid political base, the lowest unemployment in 50 years, had beat impeachment, loaded the judicial system, and controlled two and half branches of governance, he thought in his genius mode, that the virus would not amount to anything and it could be “snake oiled” away. As a result, the country is now suffering from a pandemic which has killed tens of thousands, wiped out the economy, tanked the stock market, increased unemployment to levels not seen since the great depression, cost the taxpayers trillions of dollars, destroyed tons of food, and crushed the health care system.    And here we are, with a leader who doesn’t lead, a leader who lies, a leader who when he touches anything it turns to crap, a leader who if just acting two weeks earlier about COVID-19 could have saved as many as 40,000 lives.  A leader who has blood on his hands, lust and anger in his heart, and profits on his mind.

I started this piece with a quote from Shakespeare, let me end it with another Shakespeare quote…  

“Life’s but a walking shadow, a poor player
That struts and frets his hour upon the stage
And then is heard no more. It is a tale
Told by an idiot, full of sound and fury,
Signifying nothing”.

DEMOCRACY’S DEMISE

In the sky above Washington, D.C., the Angel of Death circles, landing frequently at the White House and the Senate wing of the Capital. Death dances with his disciples, the President and Senate leader Mitch McConnell, the self proclaimed “grim reaper”. This act is a reminder for them to rip off the system, kill democracy and accomplish the Trump Party’s mission “of doing as much harm as possible without losing control”. Death is especially impressed with Senate leader, McConnell who in his role as the Senate’s gatekeeper has been able to destroy America by politicizing the judiciary system while dancing on the graves of liberty and freedom.  Those entombments represent delayed and killed legislation, destruction of the US postal service, voter rights, pandemic funding, jobs, impeachment, health care, civil rights, the Constitution, the rule of law, democracy itself and the life and death of you and those who you are concerned about.  

With blood on their hands, the administration’s scam leadership is rapidly changing the United States into the Trump Banana Republic.

Some cult Republicans don’t give a damn about you.  They rent from lobbyists, they do insider trading, they get almost free health care, they rig the tax laws, they have taken our jobs, health coverage, future, education, our right to vote, the lives of our friends and love ones and much, much more.  They are poisoning our air, water and food, stealing our money, scamming us, and they are only a house search away from confiscating our guns. Do you think a dictator would permit hundreds of millions of weapons in the hands of the public?

Yes, Death is pleased with his assassins of democracy, freedom, liberty, and justice. You can save our country from Death, get involved and insist upon and support a protected “mail in ballot“ for the November general election.

Wisconsin voters who refused to let the GOP cheat them out of democracy have been rightfully acknowledged by the media. Their commitment prevented the GOP cult from robbing them of their vote and destroying the American democratic process.  Those voters of Wisconsin deserve recognition as patriots and special kudos for their in person voting in light of the COVID-19 pandemic risk.

Democracy may have won the battle but the November war has yet to be determined. Efforts by the Trump administration and their supporters to kill early voting, absentee ballots, vote by mail, polling place accessibility, voter registration are just a few of the battles yet to be waged and of course there is the issue of foreign tampering with the vote and the count.  

Let’s not give the Trump cult the opportunity to invalidate the November election by corrupting the process.  Wisconsin voters and all lovers of liberty and freedom should fight for easy registration, expanded early voting, vote by mail, accessibility not only for the November election but for all future national elections.  

The American people deserve to be more than a banana republic!

I understand the Trump administration is recommending that vulnerable Americans wear face masks to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus.  Masks are available embossed with the “MAGA” logo at $35.00 each from the White House.
